Imitating Jesus

Sermon Texts: Pastor Jean will be using a number of scripture references in her message. Some of them are listed below.

Ephesians 5: 1. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love.

Romans 6: 17-18. But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

1 John 2: 6. Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

Colossians 3: 12. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Galatians 2: 20. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Romans 6: 11. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

James 2:18. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by deeds.

Acts 19: 2. And [Paul] asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

John 14: 16-17. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

John 14: 26. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

John 16: 7. But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

Psalms 16: 8. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
